Fuel Tanks
Most people will change the fuel tank, after all this is one of the main features of the motorcycle and in my opinion this is what makes one bike completely different from the next. You can get them fairly cheaply off EBay or depending on what you are looking for there are aftermarket suppliers such as Custom Chrome, Highway Hawk and Zodiac just to mention a few. All though these are American suppliers if you take a look at some of the custom motorcycle mags here in the UK such as Back street heros (BSH) or 100% Biker you will notice most uk parts distributors will have parts from these suppliers
Another option is to have your donor bikes tank cut and re-shaped but best left to professionals to carry out the work, you definatley don't want fuel leaking while you are riding your bike. Also you may find a motorcycle parts dealer within your region who will sell custom fuel tanks as well as other custom parts.
There are many styles of fuel tank you could create and varying prices to get exactly the look you are after. My advice if you are creating your own design is to seek professional help to confirm your idea is practical, possible and that you can get it made.

The first 6 images below are the cheaper options widely used by budget builders. The first 2 images are of a Harley Sportster tank. These come up regularly on Ebay. The next 2 images are of a "Mustang" tank and the last 2 are of a Quick Bob Tank.
Here is the "Mustang" tank
Here is the "Quick Bob" tank notice it is much wider than the "Mustang" tank
In the images below is a custom tank I found while looking on Ebay, it is an example of another style of tank that could be used on your custom motorcycle. If you wish to use this style of tank you will have to design your frame to suit.
